Dr. Aaron Mogeni Oirere

Biography

Dr. Mogeni Aaron Oirere is a Senior Lecturer and the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science at Murang’a University of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (India), specializing in computational logistics – Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence.

With over a decade of academic leadership and teaching experience across Kenyan and Indian universities, Dr. Oirere has previously served as Dean of the School of Pure and Applied Sciences at Kirinyaga University. His research portfolio spans Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals.

A prolific researcher and mentor, Dr. Oirere holds an Indian patent for a “Method, apparatus and system for virtualized, diskless computing system for educational applications and research” (Patent No. 562306, granted March 2025). He has attacked research grant from a Kenya Education Network (KENET) research grant worth Ksh 1,500,000 focused on Digital Twin and IoT technologies for precision agriculture and MUT Vice Chancellor grant worth ksh 400,000 focusing on prediction model for continuous monitoring of student performance: case of murang’a university of technology.

His technical expertise includes Artificial Intelligence, computational linguistics -Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cybersecurity. He is an active member of the Computer Society of Kenya (CSK), Association of Computing Professionals Kenya (ACPK), and serves as Patron for the Project Management Club (PMI Kenya) and AJIRA Club at his university.
