Biography

Dennis is a Senior Lecturer at Murang’a University of Technology. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Resource Management from Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya. I am currently a lecture in the department of agriculture school of business and economics at Murang’a University of Technology. Prior to this, Dennis was a Research Fellow at Tegemeo Institute of policy analysis and development team for 4 years (2 year contract period in a USAID project ) where he played  key roles in designing and execution of digitized data driven dlimate studies,  household surveys, Country Development Evaluation Studies, Analysis of Cross Sectional and Panel Data.

Teaching motivates me through mentoring and guiding students in academics and research which are responsibilities I a currently overseeing at MUT. I am also a team player and has worked in different groups to achieve the research mandate of the university through writing proposal for funding. My research experience involved economics of irrigation, adoption studies under Conservation agriculture and good agricultural Practices, Cost pf food production, Production tradeoffs, land access and youth migration and project evaluations. My tenacious and proactive approach in research has resulted in a number of important studies and publications by the Institute and in refereed journals. Further, my over 19 years  work experience both at the University, Tegemeo and as a consultant provides him with critical skills to handle new challenges in agriculture sector research and evaluations  using my meticulous attention to detail in a friendly and professional manner.

I have good networking skills and a member of professional associations among them ASK, IFMA and  IAAE through which the Institute gets vital client leads and partnership linkages. I am also proud of associating MUT with IFMA currently. Such networks are key to developing and improving stakeholder relationship in Policy research as well as expanding the Institutes businesses
