I am a researcher and lecturer passionate about the Linguistics of African Languages. Currently I am teaching Linguistics at both undergraduate and post graduate levels in the department of humanities at Murang’a University of Technology. I have previously taught Communication Skills, Social Studies and Life Skills at the Murang’a College of Technology . I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education (English/Literature in English option) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in 2004, a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Nairobi in 2007 and a PhD in Linguistics from Moi University in 2023. My doctoral thesis which adopts a Cognitive Linguistic Approach is on the Polysemy of the Gĩkũyũ Nouns. My current research is situated in the fields of Phonology, Semantics and Pragmatics with a special focus on the Phonology of African Languages, lexical and Cognitive Semantics. I am a founder member of the Language Association of Eastern Africa (LAEA) and is a reviewer for the Nordic Journal of African Studies and the Journal of West African Languages.
