Biography

Dr. Geoffrey Mariga Wambugu is a Senior Lecturer at Murang’a University of Technology, specializing in Information Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in IT from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, with a focus on machine learning. His research spans data science, text analytics, and natural language processing. Dr. Mariga has held leadership roles, developed academic curricula, and supervised postgraduate research in Applications of Machine Learning. He has published extensively and secured grants, including a 2024 research grant from KENET to enhance programming education through GenAI​.
