Biography

Dr. Rachael N. Ndung’u is a researcher, academic, and Information Technology practitioner with a PhD in Information Technology specializing in Machine Learning, an MSc in Information Systems, and a BSc in Information Technology (First Honors). She currently serves as Acting Director, Linkages, Outreach and Partnerships at Murang’a University of Technology, providing leadership in institutional partnerships, industry engagement, innovation, knowledge exchange, and community outreach.

Her expertise focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Information Systems to real-world challenges. Her work adopts a business-oriented perspective, translating emerging technologies into practical, data-driven solutions that create value for organisations, industries, and communities.

Her key research interests include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, Information Systems and Digital Transformation, AI-driven Decision Support Systems, digital innovation, technology for sustainable livelihoods, AI and emerging technologies in agriculture and agribusiness, technology-enhanced education, and ICT for enterprise and community development.

Dr. Ndung’u is particularly interested in bridging technology, business, and sustainable development, with a focus on practical and scalable IT applications that enhance decision-making, productivity, market access, innovation, and socio-economic impact.
