Biography

Dr. Evans Biraori Oteki, a Senior Lecturer (Murang’a University of Technology, School of Business & Economics), is a holder of Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), MSc. in Procurement & Logistics (JKUAT) and Bachelor of Commerce (University of Nairobi). Additionally, he is a certified procurement professional with membership of MCIPS and KISM. Dr. Oteki’s expertise spans over 25 years, encompassing both academia and industry, with a strong focus on supply chain optimization, procurement practices, and logistics management. He has published 2 books and has attained so far 46 Journal Articles covering electronic procurement, supply chain performance, and public procurement. He has supervised 2 PhD students and 8 Masters Students to graduation. Dr. Evans Oteki has been actively involved in a wide range of consultancy services, primarily focusing on procurement audits, training, and policy development. Some of the consultancies include; Procurement Audit Services (World Bank Projects), Procurement Training Consultancy (Centre for Advanced Procurement Studies), Procurement Policy Development (Kenya Airports Authority and others), Research Consultant (Keynes consultants). Industry Experience before Joining Murang’a University of Technology include; Head of Procurement Logistics and Transport Manager at Nzoia Sugar Company, Logistics Manager at Celtel Kenya (now Airtel Kenya), Supplies officer and Auditor with Government of Kenya and project Accountant with CHACK (NGO). Dr. Oteki’s rich experience in the procurement and logistics sectors laid a strong foundation for his academic career, allowing him to bring practical industry insights into his current lecturing and research.
