Biography

a) Education: Dr. Peace B. A. N. Agufana graduated with a PhD in Educational Communication Technology from Moi University, Kenya in 2015. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Communication Technology from Moi University in 2009 and a B.Sc. (Upper Second Class) in Education from Moi University in 1994. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (Quality Assurance) from the University of Melbourne under sponsorship of Commission for University Education, Kenya (1.6 Million study grant 2016-2017).

b) Working career: Dr. Agufana joined the Teachers Service Commission as a Graduate Teacher and rose to a lecturer (1994-1999), he then moved to the Ministry of Education as an Inspector of Schools where he slowly rose the to the level of Assistant Director Quality Assurance (1999-2010). He later joined the Commission for University Education as an Assistant Commission Secretary Accreditation (2010-2017) and later Murang’a University of Technology where he was the founding Dean-School of Education (2017-2020) currently he is the Registrar Administration and Planning, Murang’a University of Technology.

c) Teaching experience: Dr. Agufana has wide experience in teaching at the University, College and Secondary School level in different institutions of higher learning including the Murang’a University, The Kenya Education Management Institute and also Moi University, where he was a visiting Professor to students of Education and also taught managers in the education sector.

d) Supervision: Dr. Agufana is supervising 4 doctorate and 4 masters’ degree students.

e) Research experience: Dr. Agufana has won over 3 research grants, the Seeding Labs grant of KES. 50 Million, (2023/2024) for equipping the Molecular Laboratory of Murang’a University of Technology, Vice Chancellors grant of Murang’a University of Technology of KES. 399,000 for carrying out research on teenage pregnancies in Homa Bay County, Kenya, (2022-2024), the NUFFIC project 20,000 Euros, developing human resources at the Commission for University Education, funded by the Netherlands Government, 2014-2017, where he participated in the project development team and also as a project coordinator. He has also coordinated a Tracer Study for Bachelor of Business Studies degree graduates, funded by Commission for University Education at a tune of KES. 4 Million, (2013-2014).

f) Publication: Dr. Agufana has published over 13 articles in referred journals and 2 book chapters. He has also attended and presented papers in various national and international conferences.
